Today was suppose to be our annual parish picnic in the park, but we were forced to have the service and 'picnic' at church because of rain.  (We've gotten a lot of rain this spring.) Rather than wait in the long line for food, we took some pictures in and around the church.  Here are some of them and a few from after lunch too. Here are a few of Jack's sketches: 1. Penguin 2.  Lego block 3.  unknown

Mother's Day Weekend Festivities

Image
That title exaggerates things a bit, but here are a few shots from this weekend.  I also have uploaded two videos to YouTube.  They can be viewed here  and here . After a hearty dinner at Dave's Burger Barn, we went out to play in the adjacent park.   This last shot is from a few weeks back, but I think it is a good shot of Katie. What a great mom! Action shot: mothering her oldest child Hopefully more posts will follow soon in an attempt to get caught up after months of neglect.

Three big kids

Image
Lillian, 9 years old 54 in, 69 lbs She is breezing through the Harry Potter books, perhaps a little too fast. She's on Book 5 after only 6 weeks.  Currently she working on a jump rope routine with her best friend to perform at the school talent show.  Jack, 6 1/2 years old 48 in, 51 lbs He is soaking up kindergarten. He has gone from not knowing all his letters in August to now being able to read. And he has charmed his teacher and she wants to clone him. He is our runner, our early riser, and the adventure seeker.  Wesley, 5 years old 42 in, 33 lbs He's adorable. Still loves to snuggle up, hug, be held, give hugs and kisses and just generally takes delight in being the youngest. He proudly and neatly writes his name. He is finally rivaling Jack as the master builder of Legos.  (Note that they are perfectly 6 inches and 18 lbs different from each other.) At the doctor's office, March 31 2015

Lillian turns 9!

from the archives: Wes singing a Christmas classic

Here is a video that I discovered on an old memory card and then posted to youtube.  He doesn't (and didn't back then either) usually cooperate in moments like this.  Maybe I bribed him w/ the opportunity to showcase the 'backflip'?  I can't remember now. Here is the link:  Wes

Sneak Preview

We received a message from Google that they were going to shut down our blog because of inactivity (not really, but it has been a long time).  So, after many months here is an inadequate update/preview.  In the near future we'll put together some more robust posts that will cover: ordinary around-the-house nonsense like dressing up like Dr. Navarrio and Gru (photo 1), lots of Baylor football, the BU homecoming parade, a quick trip to San Diego, our much-anticipated beach trip w/ a stop in San Antonio, and yet another research trip to SMU (that won't get much coverage, but I happened to have a photo on my laptop). Stay tuned and Merry Christmas.
