The Zoo!

Image
In the attempt to "show Waco" we finally ventured out to the zoo at Cameron Park. Mike, Tracy, and Jake are visiting and since the sun came out today, the zoo was just the place to go. And it was amazing. There are a ton of animals including lions, tigers, and bears...oh my. So now that we've discovered this great place we are definitely going lots more - we even bought a one year membership - so we have to go:)

Happy Birthday

We celebrated Lillian's 1st birthday on January 16th. Helping Mommy clean up. Birthday wishes. Reading her birthday cards. Height compared to Daddy - 1/16/07

Winter Wonderland

Image
Ice, sleet, and snow have been in the weather this week with a little bit more to come. Although mostly staying inside to keep warm and dry we have manage to venture out for a very short walk. Kyle was home with us yesterday for the MLK holiday and was hoping for school to be cancelled today. Can you believe a 30 year student still hopes for snowdays?

Happy New Year!!!

Photo Shoot #21

Image
One of the best parts of spending Christmas in Ohio was seeing the two cousins interacting with each other. Gideon is about 5 weeks older than Lillian. He's walking around like a pro and his favorite word is "light" which he says almost constantly. There were lots of opportunities to get them together for pictures. This one is in honor of their Canadian connections as the shirts show: Lillian as a citizen and Gideon as offspring from parents who met in Canada - "The 40", Duncan, BC to be exact.

One Year Ago

We were enjoying the sights of Vancouver on a cool afternoon. Lillian was still tucked in warmly for a couple more weeks...

Texas Hill Country

Image
The San Antonio Missions are a must see. This first picture was taken inside the grounds. The next one is Kyle and Lillian outside the Alamo which is located in downtown San Antonio. From there we walked over to the riverwalk where the next photo is taken.
Image
We are heading out for a couple days to see Austin and San Antonio, apparently the coolest cities in Texas. We will camp two nights too since it has been warmer this week. Kyle is done with his semester now so it will be nice to do something different.
Image
While Kyle's working hard to finish up the semester, Lillian and I are outside again. We are looking forward to next week when he will be able to join us. We are even contemplating a camping trip during his break if the weather is warm enough.

It dropped 40 degrees last night. it was snowing in Waco today though not at our house, just ice. Guess I got my wish.

Second Thoughts

Image
After seeing recent photos of Vancouver I'm taking back what I said a couple days ago. It's absolutely beautiful there!! Well, maybe we'll get some snow for Christmas in Ohio. Here's one from yesterday. Lilly enjoying the sun and cheerios.

Vancouver VS. Waco Update

Image
As most of you have heard we are trying hard not to compare Waco with Vancouver, however Waco would have received one point this past week. As you see in the pictures above it snowed pretty hard the other day (that's Lillian's boy--friend Jake). But they've also been receiving a ton of rain lately, so much so that residents are having to boil water. On our end of things we've had a couple of beautiful days. The picture was taken out on campus after a football game with friends. They lost, hence the look on Lillian's face. Lilly has also turned out to be a huge Wheaton Women's Soccer fan so she wore her Wheaton T-shirt this weekend since they were in the Final Four on Friday and Saturday. They beat The College of New Jersey 2-0 on Saturday to win the NCAA DIII Championship. Go Wheaton!!! The other pic is of her staying up-to-date with all the Regent news. She's a big reader.

Autumn Reflections

Image
We enjoyed a great Thanksgiving Day for the first time in five years and the first ever of course for Lillian. It's beautiful outside with temperatures in the 70's so we are going to get out and take advantage today. Kyle has a football game with friends and Lillian and I will cheer on though she'll probably spend most of her time eating leaves. They must taste good this time of year.
