A new babe

Congrats to Ruthie and Radu with the arrival of John Thomas Zuba on August 23. Here is one of his first pics. Maybe Lillian will get to meet her second cousin sometime this fall?

Thanks to a small donation Lillian has been able to enjoy a few new toys and help to make home more fun for all. I guess peas are not to her liking?

Laundry and Lifting

Image
Believe it or not, I'm enjoying laundry time especially hanging everything out to dry. It takes less than 30 minutes to dry and I've even put things up overnight(!) and they've dried then too. I really like seeing Lillian's little clothes hanging up next to ours. She's currently giving Kyle the run down of her day as he bathes or rather plays with her outside in her pool. We haven't been taking as many pictures of her lately and even less video. But she's learned what the camera is and what is expected of her, smiling almost immediately. "Aren't I cute?" Kyle and I call this her fake smile. Below I think she was trying to explain to Mr. Bear that she couldn't play with him until she was done with her lifting regimen. I'm not sure if she followed through.

Cousins

I've been meaning to put up some pictures and comments from our fun though brief visit with Kelsey and Annie, and Gideon!! So here's the first. We bought a home computer since Kyle is going to be away so much with his. This way I'll be able to do all the blogging I want plus start my home business making from $35,000- $80,000/month!

Handlin' the Heat

Despite consistent days over 100 we are managing. We primarily employ avoidance techniques, that is we stay inside during the afternoon. We really could use some rain here. Lillian seems to be thriving although her parents are slower to adapt. We are actually faring better than we thought we might.

School starts

We are trying to settle in as best we can although there is still lots of painting, unpacking, and cleaning to be done. Plus we still need to acquire some more furniture. We bought a fridge, washing machine and dryer last week. An ice maker was a must. It's great. We are in our house, it still feels funny every time we pull into the driveway! I'll plan to post some pictures as soon as I take a couple of us standing by it outside. Kyle's parents were here for 5 days or so helping with painting and getting unpacked. We are at least able to sit in a living room that's painted, green. And we can eat dinner at the table. And of course Lillian has most of her toys out and about, mainly her swing that helps to keep her occupied. Kyle is currently at his second day of orientation, classes start next week. Baylor's campus is really beautiful and we are enjoying the city of Waco as well even though I did have my doubts. Lillian and I walked to a small Farmer'
