SMU

Last weekend we visited Kyle at Southern Methodist University. We had a great time and plan to go up again this coming weekend. The campus is beautiful. Jackie went crazy for the fountains.

Band-aids

Image
As we all know, band-aids have super powers if you are a kid. I made the mistake of trying to explain to Lillian yesterday that a band-aid does NOT really do anything (she's gotten quite good at putting them on). Of course, I was just trying to keep her from using so many band-aids so often. She quickly responded that they DO do something. And after thinking about it some more, explained to me that if she did not put the band-aid on her finger that it would die. And since she DID apply it to her finger it was now able to live.

The pictures are from my mom's night out. I guess they had some fun too.

Lillian

Lillian found a notepad yesterday and spent times throughout the day in the rocking chair making notes and drawing pictures. She's had difficulty lately using crayons, markers, and pencils appropriately (meaning only on paper) so we had to take everything away for awhile. But I allowed her the use of one pencil when I saw how she kept herself occupied. Here's the new pool! Lots of fun, even with just 2 inches of water.

He our little lovey-dovey boy. The other day I had Lillian wrapped up in a self hug and he came up and gave her a big hug, repeatedly. He's also very good about routinely giving me hugs and kisses at the change table. And he'll even give scruffy Kyle a kiss when requested.

This boy practically lives in the bouncer when not sleeping. I just added the toys to it and he can entertain himself with his frantic movements.

I am a mother

I had a great Mother's Day weekend! Saturday morning I had breakfast in bed with yummy coffee, beautiful fruit salad, and 2 egg, bacon, cheese english muffins. It was great. Wes sat and smiled next to me and I listened to Kyle run around feeding the two kids and me. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to their demands from another part of the house knowing that they expected nothing from me that morning. Now, if we could just make this a weekly tradition...monthly maybe? Oh, okay, I'll settle for the Mother's Day tradition. Lillian presented me with a card this morning. It had a heart cut out (which she gave to me separately) and she had written a couple notes. My favorite part though was the family of 5 that she drew. Children's first people drawings are the best. She's so good at it. A great thing about being a mother is realizing what a wonderful mother I had. I'm so amazed with her in so many ways. Now I just need to go for a visit so that some (more

Although he is crying currently (maybe I should stop blogging) here is my little one asleep. I love his responsive smile and the way he watches his big brother and sister play.

Trying to cool off today from the 94 degree temps but the bigger plastic pool has yet to be bought. Brackins - we're stopping by for a dip soon!

Lillian's Summer Haircut

I realized that I love cutting hair. This is Lillian's newest do. (ps. I didn't even ask her to pose.)
