It dropped 40 degrees last night. it was snowing in Waco today though not at our house, just ice. Guess I got my wish.

Vancouver VS. Waco Update

As most of you have heard we are trying hard not to compare Waco with Vancouver, however Waco would have received one point this past week. As you see in the pictures above it snowed pretty hard the other day (that's Lillian's boy--friend Jake). But they've also been receiving a ton of rain lately, so much so that residents are having to boil water. On our end of things we've had a couple of beautiful days. The picture was taken out on campus after a football game with friends. They lost, hence the look on Lillian's face. Lilly has also turned out to be a huge Wheaton Women's Soccer fan so she wore her Wheaton T-shirt this weekend since they were in the Final Four on Friday and Saturday. They beat The College of New Jersey 2-0 on Saturday to win the NCAA DIII Championship. Go Wheaton!!! The other pic is of her staying up-to-date with all the Regent news. She's a big reader.

We enjoyed a great Thanksgiving Day for the first time in five years and the first ever of course for Lillian. It's beautiful outside with temperatures in the 70's so we are going to get out and take advantage today. Kyle has a football game with friends and Lillian and I will cheer on though she'll probably spend most of her time eating leaves. They must taste good this time of year.

John Friesen and Karen Mulle wedding on November 11 at Blacknall Pres. Durham, NC. Cakes from Mad Hatter!!! Lilly and I had a nice long visit in Durham that included John and Karen's wedding and spending lots of time with Mom and Dad and Rachel. I'm glad we got to go for a bit especially since Rachel will be leaving for Uganda in January for 14 months. Call or email her to find out more!!
It's Raining, It's Pouring

We've been stuck inside all day because it's absolutely pouring outside. It's great, just what we needed. However since we left the rain cover to the stroller in Vancouver we will stay put like we most people do when it rains. I suppose it's a perfect day for scrapping the wallpaper in the kitchen but...I'd rather read with a cup of tea during her nap, or make dinner, or clean up, or write a letter, or organize bills, or anything!!. :) Thanks Ruthie for the beautiful sweater, she's able to wear it now that the weather has cooled off.

High of 77 today but we woke up to temperatures in the 30's which is probably what most of you are dealing with. Kyle is really excited about this new weather after dealing with 90+ for so long. So we really are liking Waco. Well it's been awhile since I've updated, sorry for that. I've actually been enjoying my time away from the computer and have managed to start and finish a couple books. Of course if I endeavor to take Kyle up on his offer to read a book from his list of current ones for school I may not be able to finish in a day or two as I like to do. We had a great but short visit with Mom W this past weekend. She had fun waking up with Lillian in the morning and I had fun sleeping in. For whatever reason our camera has been sitting in the same spot these days so I decided to take a couple pics today of her with her new friend Elmo (that traveled all the way from Ohio) and with me. Elmo was singing and dancing during this shot, and so was Lillian!

We had a great rain yesterday and last night. Maybe the grass and plants will turn green again. With the rain also came some cooler temperatures for the next week or so. 70s and sunny is so perfect! We were going to go on a family outing to the Baylor Women's soccer game yesterday but due to the rain we switched our plans to going swimming at the rec center. We didn't realize that the indoor pool can close when it thunders/lightnings. Oh well, we're just thankful for the rain.
New tricks

Lillian has developed a few new tricks. One of them is swishing her saliva in her mouth. She does it loud enough for us to hear. The other thing that she is really good at is turning around in circles on the floor. She's backing up some and even gets in the crawling stance but that's it. Another funny thing that she does is when I'm putting her to bed just after feeding her, I pat her back in case she needs to burp and she does the same to me.

We had a nice visit with the Polak family over the Labor Day Weekend. They came down to Waco and stayed for two nights. We celebrated Mark's 1st birthday with them and explored another park within Cameron Park. Next time maybe we'll need to visit the Cameron Park Zoo which I read has two new baby lion cubs. Lillian also received her new booster/high chair in the mail a couple of days ago. And the Polaks' also gave us a crib that Mark had been using. It's really nice with lots of room for Lillian to grow. I'll get a picture of it later.
