New words

Jack is just amazing us these days with lots of new words and imitating us and Lillian at times.  A couple of days ago we were talking about a token that the speech therapist left at our house (belonging to one of Jack's favorite games). Jack said "I love money."  Money is not a new word and we've been working on "I love you" but putting it together like this was very expressive and exciting!

He also says Lillian's name in a very cute way, since her name is impossible for most 2 years.  He has said these words lately around us and during speech therapy: whale (as a southerner would say it), mouse, I do, lunch, snack, wateee for water, Asheee for Asher, and funny.

Movers arrive We are currently living in McAllen located in south Texas just 9 miles north of the border.  It is very tropical, very hot, very spanish-speaking, and our favorite part - filled with very yummy Mexican food.  McAllen is about 140,000 population but with the surrounding towns it is over 1 million.  Kyle actually works in Edinburg where UT-Rio Grande Valley is located.  It is about a 20 min drive north.  Earth view of our neighborhood From our backyard toward the park and walking path Front flowers  The boys were the first to dig in. Settling in - Fall 2016

 *These are plants from our front yard. We spent the fall in McAllen: unpacking starting homeschool exploring the neighborhood finding parks taking in the deliciously different food options swimming - every day at the neighborhood pool visiting South Padre, at least once a month finding a church meeting Kyle's colleagues, and overall just getting accustomed to a new place.   One of our first walks on the walking/running/biking trail a block from our house The climbing rope at La Vista park, a block away.  He's the only one of us that can make it up. Jack Robert Welty

Jack joined our family at 10:24 this morning. Everyone is well. He weighed 6 lb. 2 oz. and measured 19". Lillian is playing with Ms. Aaryn, and Jack and Mom are napping. Here are some pictures.
