Last Weekend in Wilmore

Kids who think they are tuff

Saturday we went to Lexington to visit two parks and walk around downtown.  We parked and then walked from Triangle Park (the fountains) to Thoroughbred Park.  It ended up being at least half a mile.  We were pretty tempted by the fountains to cool off.  Others seem to be taking full advantage.

Sunday we drove half an hour south west to Harrodsburg to visit a fort and a couple more parks.  Unfortunately the Fort was having a special event including an indian raid re-enactment and they charged admission.  We decided to skip that and stick with just the playground and river parks.

The moment before the crash.

These kids could throw rocks in water all day if you let them.

Sunday evening we came home and got our suits on for a visit to Jessamine County Aquatic Center which has two slides, two diving boards, splash pad, children's pool playground with slide, etc.  Jack just barely (or they at least let him by) met the height requirement for the slides.  He and Lillian probably went up and down 20 times.  And Wes was having a blast without his usual vest on and showing how he can go under and swim.  Not quite but better than last year at least.

Grammy came down for another short visit yesterday.  She watched the kids while Kyle and I drove up to Lexington for an Indian lunch together.  Yummy.  Tonight we are going to finish pack and try to make it back to the pool once more.  Tomorrow we'll try to get a early start for our drive to Durham with a stop at Cumberland Falls.
